The Center for Computational & Data Sciences (CCDS) of IUB won the Best Paper Award and the Best Presenter Award at the 2025 IEEE 23rd Student Conference on Research and Development (SCOReD), held on November 25–26 at Universiti Malaya in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The Best Paper Award was given for the work titled “Effectiveness of Transfer Learning Approach for Low-Resource Bangla Dialect Translation,” authored by Dewan Rakin Ahamed Remal, Sinthia Chowdhury, Jahanggir Hossain Setu, and Nabarun Halder.
The Best Presenter Award was received by Faiza Omar Arpita for her presentation on “Preliminary Design of a Culturally Tailored AI-Integrated mHealth App for Gestational Diabetes and Excessive Weight Management in Bangladesh.” Arpita is a current MSc in Computer Science student at IUB.
