About

CCDS is an interdisciplinary research institute at Independent University Bangladesh that opened in 2022. Its mission is to conduct research in artificial intelligence, data science, and computational science, as well as to apply these subjects to natural and social sciences. The center now has six wings: AI & ML, Data Science, HCI, Computational Physics & Astronomy, Computational Biology, and Industrial Partnership and Training. The center currently has 12 supervisors from the departments of CSE, Physical Sciences, and Life Sciences and over 30 worldwide collaborators (from academia and industry in the United States, Australia, Canada, the United Arab Emirates, and Finland). 12 full-time research assistants (graduates of IUB and other universities), 5 part-time research assistants, and around 30 undergraduate students are actively working on several funded projects. The center also provides cutting-edge machine learning and artificial intelligence training through regular workshops, summer schools to young researchers and professionals, preparing them for the fourth industrial revolution. More than 25 alumni from the center are currently pursuing PhDs at the top ranked universities of the world as well as working as machine learning engineers in the software industry.
