The Computational Biology wing of the Centre for Computational Data Science (CCDS) has successfully completed its intensive four-day workshop, “Linux for Biologists.”
Held over four days spread across two weeks, the workshop introduced participants to open-source computing. Sessions began with command-line basics and progressed to working with complex biological datasets, giving life science students and researchers practical skills they can apply directly in their own work.
The workshop was coordinated by Sabrina Moriom Elias, PhD, Associate Professor in the Department of Life Sciences and Co-Director of the Computational Biology wing. Ms. Ismot Ara Ferdous Erin, Adjunct Lecturer in the Department of Life Sciences at IUB, conducted the sessions as resource person.
We thank our instructors for sharing their expertise, and all the students and researchers whose enthusiasm made the workshop a success.
Stay tuned for upcoming training sessions and workshops from CCDS as we continue to empower life sciences through computational data science.
