πŸŽ‰ Huge congratulations to our CCDS RAs Sazzat, Iftee, Rajib; research intern Adrita Khan; and CCDS alumni: Ovi, Nayem, Anis for their incredible hard work and dedication in getting two papers accepted at the 2025 IEEE International Conference on Image Processing (ICIP 2025)! πŸ™ŒπŸ“„
πŸ“Š ICIP is a flagship conference of the IEEE Signal Processing Society in the computer vision domain, with an h5-index of 66 and h5-median of 95. This year, only 498 papers were accepted out of approximately 2000 submissions, resulting in an acceptance rate of 24.9%. The conference will be held in Anchorage, Alaska, USA,πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ from September 14–17, 2025.
πŸ›°οΈ The first paper is titled “RGC-BENT: A NOVEL DATASET FOR BENT RADIO GALAXY CLASSIFICATION,” where we introduce a new dataset for bent radio galaxy classification and provide benchmark results using state-of-the-art deep learning models. This is a collaborative effort between the CCDS and the Center for Astronomy, Space Science and Astrophysics (CASSA).
🌍 The second paper is titled “BD OPEN LULC MAP: HIGH-RESOLUTION LAND USE LAND COVER MAPPING & BENCHMARKING FOR URBAN DEVELOPMENT IN DHAKA, BANGLADESH,” where we present pixel-wise LULC annotations across 11 classes (e.g., Farmland, Water, Forest, Urban Structure, Rural Built-Up) for Dhaka and surrounding areas using high-resolution Bing satellite imagery (2.22 m/pixel).
🧠 The papers are co-authored by Dr. K. M. B. Asad, Dr. Payaswini Saikia, Prof. Arshad Momen, Dr Jewel Kumar Gosh, Prof. Md Ashraful Amin, Prof. Amin Ahsan Ali, and supervised by Dr. AKM Mahbubur Rahman. πŸ™πŸ’‘
